"You get so involved in the creative process that you weirdly forget what the clothes look like on people. So, tonight is really refreshing. Because I get a big kick out of seeing girls wearing and looking great in our fashion," said Jovovich. Jovovich and her even leggier partner Carmen Hawk design the eponymous label, Jovovich Hawk, mainly in LA, though they have recently switched to a New York-based manufacturer to produce the sexily skimpy, yet never too outrageous, party dresses, cut generally way above the knee. A rat pack that included uber leggy blonde Shirley Malman, Jasmine Guinness, Jade Parfait, Pop editor-in-chief Katie Grand, and hot stylist Andrew Davies, the man who dresses England's greatest soccer star Wayne Rooney, showed up for the launch in the Knightsbridge department store's Fifth Floor Café. "Jovovich Hawk attracts a cooler sort customers who wants a sexy look, but she's also just that tad intellectual too. We're delighted to have it in the store," beamed Harvey Nichols beautiful Buying Director Averyl Oates. For Jovovich and Hawk, who traditionally show their collections in the actress/model/rocker's West Village townhouse, the party was their first ever event in Europe. "I love the whole look and feel of the clothes. They are so light they feel like there is nothing on, even though of course there is," smiled Malman, a former Galliano model attired in a ruffled, pinstripe goddess mini dress that sent the paparazzi flashes in overdrive. Both Jovovich and Hawk wore va va vroom cocktail dresses – Milla's in sleek silk, Carmen's in crinkled micro fiber - garnering constant attention, as guests devoured miniature roast beef canapés and Harvey Nick's private label rose champagne. |
