Premiering as the centerpiece of the 11-day Los Angeles Film Festival, Bay's $150 million all-action flick stormed into four different theaters, causing chaos all over the normally sleepy UCLA college town. Look one way, there's the film's star handsome Josh Duhamel joking it up with co-star Jon Voight; look another, and gorgeous breakout star Megan Fox is posing prettily, wiggling her dangly $60,000 Rafinity diamond earrings for the screaming photographers.
Then there were the other "Transformers" stars - Shia LaBeouf bear hugging Tyrese Gibson, Anthony Anderson and Rachael Taylor taking in the blue-carpet madness, and Amaury Nolasco flashing his pearly whites as his "Prison Break" fans shouted his name.
And that was just the tip of the celebrity iceberg that descended on Westwood to be part of the mad scene. Oscar winner Helen Mirren turned up, along with Joshua Jackson, Brandon Routh, Lance Bass, Josh Henderson, Cheryl Hines, Busta Rhymes, Jon Cryer, Seth Green, Dayanara Torres and tons of other familiar faces.
At the huge outdoor street party after the wild adventure unspooled, everyone agreed that Michael Bay and his talented crew had truly brought the long-time shape-shifting toy favorites to life in an incredible way.
"I thought, I remember the cartoons, I remember the toys, and thinking how are they going to make a movie out of this?" Josh Duhamel commented. "Is it going to be animated? Is it going to be humans inside the Transformers? I didn't know how they were going to do it. But then after seeing some of the artwork, the computerized animatics they had made, I got a real sense of how cool it was going to be. It turned out to be amazing, didn't it?"
That it did. Look for "Transformers" to cause a ruckus in a theater near you on July 2. |
