The latest edition of the strategy-endurance game was set in the West African nation of Gabon. Eighteen castaways had come together when the season began. The winner was chosen by a seven-member jury of previously voted-off contestants. Runners-up were Susie Smith, a 47-year-old hairdresser and homemaker from Charles City, Iowa, and 29-year-old Jessica "Sugar" Kiper, a pinup model from Brooklyn.
