The Broadway League made a pre-noon announcement that there are no cancellations of Broadway shows, but added, "If patrons cannot get to the show, they should contact their point of purchase for exchange information."
Meanwhile, Telecharge has announced the following: "If you are unable to attend one of the shows listed below, you will be permitted to exchange your tickets which were purchased through Telecharge.com."

According to the National Weather Service, snow is expected to intensify by afternoon, and Manhattan could see as much as 11 inches by late Wednesday. Strong winds will accompany the snow.
The evening commute is expected to be so messy that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is discouraging motorists from coming into the city. Extra commuter trains are being added for early-afternoon exits from the city, according to television reports. Snow of more that ten inches could shut down rail service; subway service is not necessarily affected.
That said, with these weather events, Broadway usually follows the old entertainment rule, "The show must go on." There is still a population of tourists and New Yorkers eager to take in a play or musical - or take advantage of the possibility that some hard-to-get tickets might be easier to snag with fewer theatregoers around.
The producers of Hair have already announced a Snow-Day Special for New York City school students who will enjoy a day off Wednesday (the shut-down of schools was announced on Tuesday).
A spokesperson for Disney said it will be "business as usual" for Mary Poppins at the New Amsterdam (7 PM) and The Lion King at the Minskoff (2 PM).
According to the National Weather Service, Manhattan can expect snow and areas of blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. The high will be 33 before dropping. Winds will be between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible. |
